There are many ways in which we can travel and even more reasons to choose traveling. Weekend getaways, visits to places we miss, reunions with the loved ones, sports events or activities, the one-year desired planned trips or, simply, those for which we spontaneously prepare our luggage in ten minutes. Regardless of the journey we choose, it has something for each of us, enjoying and fulfilling ourselves in different ways, as we are as human beings. But beyond the stories and personal choices that lead us to discover new places, we believe that the road deserves to be shared every time. Traveling in two gives you a certain lightness, joy, relaxation and helps you, from time to time, to discover something new about the other, but also about yourself. The shared journey is more beautiful and for sure more full of life, emotions, memories.

At Bethlen Estates we found a different world: The Caretaker’s House, a restored 300 years old building transformed into a luxury home, with gorgeous details, original wooden beams, traditional stoves, handmade beds, an elegant library, a bright living room. For wine and brandy tasting you will reach the original cellars of the house of Count János Bethlen, spaces magically lit by huge torches.

We were accommodated in the Blue House, authentic and welcoming. We remember the winter days we spent there, surrounded by the first big snow of the year, like in a white fairytale. Here you live in the Transylvanian style brought today, in an open courtyard, in the untouched peace and nature.
Daniel Castle, in Tălișoara, Covasna, is a special place, with a similar story. 350 years of history, 20 unique rooms, a gourmet restaurant and a slow down spa cellarium, history, old elements, combined with the new type of comfort of the contemporary era. Satul Banului Guesthouse, a large and green area, is revealed to you like as the old people’s households used to be. Quiet, the full air, beautiful energy around. Alma-Via Guesthouse is today a beautiful traditional guesthouse, of Saxon origin, restored and transformed, for three years, from an old household, specific to the Saxon villages of the area. Located right in the heart of Transylvania, between Sibiu and Mediaș, Alma-Via can be a beautiful starting point in discovering these lands. Located in the village of Apold, with one of the most beautiful fortified churches we have seen in a Saxon village, Trappold House welcomes guests and travelers in an open and generous courtyard. There are two parts of the property here, an old one with traditional rooms, specific details and decorations and a new one, adapted to modern tastes. We love the wooden beams in the large barn, used today as a restaurant and resting place.
Domeniul Drăgași is indeed our perfect Tuscan landscape, a seven ha vineyard that stands at your feet. The perfect place for enjoying wine and for contemplation, here it is said that “a glass of Drăgășani wine calls you home… with the Olt river that waves in the distance”. The estate has an amazing position on a beautiful hill, facing the river. Infinity has so many colors and shapes here that we would sit for hours just watching the view.
In your trip we also recommend Oberwood, in Porumbacu de Sus, the village that is said to be the one to which you will always return, once you drink its water. Oberwood is actually a wonderful property, right next to the clear and fast-flowing river, where five traditional houses have been relocated and restored, open to all passionate travelers. The guesthouses offer in their own way a lesson about the past, about the values and the simple order of things that must not be lost.
At the Meșendorf Gasthaus we discovered the perfect courtyard, even in winter: an open natural space, surrounded by Transylvanian guesthouses, the oldest dating from the 1700s. A quiet oasis, in a village that seems to sleep all the time. There is no room for noise or hectic life here. The property has been restored, keeping the Saxon way of life, with the beautiful wooden guesthouses having high ceilings.
At Haller Castle you will find an elegant restaurant, a wine cellar, modern rooms and an authentic SPA area with salt produced in the castle’s underground. The whole field is a story. You just have to sit at a table, order a glass of Romanian wine and try to imagine how things were arranged hundreds of years ago. Sunny days are a blessing, because the beautiful yellow color of the castle looks much more beautiful in the light.
Cuibul de Lemn was built in close connection with traditional values and the beauty of intimate spaces, located in an open area, with stunning mountain views. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The place invites you to stay around. But you can reach Râșnov Fortress, the beautiful Cheile Râșnoavei or Bran Castle in just a few minutes.
At Avincis we recommend at the beginning of your romantic dinner their new sparkling wine, then Fetească Regală, and at the end a beautiful Negru de Drăgășani. We suggest here to stay on the field and charge yourself with as much good energy of the place as possible. As soon as you pass the main gate, you will enter an architectural universe and you will discover Villa Dobrușa, a small elegant mansion, used today by the owners.
Casa Savri is a wonderful historical monument, in fact the oldest building of the fortress, dated in 1568, inherited by the young owners from their parents and previous generations, today a real guesthouse, with old objects and furniture. Enjoy coffee in the morning on the interior terrace, watch the light of day coming and going on the facade of the beautiful Clock Tower. The courtyard is our favorite place, area with objects, family history, and traditional colors.
Cloașterf Haus is a small, comfortable guesthouse, full of stories and beautiful people as hosts, with simple bedrooms, local food and a large courtyard. “At Cloașterf Haus we expect you to slow down, not to be in a hurry, in a beautiful place, with delicious food, friendly people, everything lived at a slow pace”, they say.
